Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) champions childhood cancer care in collaboration with all childhood cancer hospitals in Ontario, and other stakeholders. POGO was founded in 1983 and serves as the official source of information and advice to Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care on childhood cancer care and control, and a trusted source of information among colleagues, parents, survivors and the public. Through health care innovation, survivor care, financial assistance for families, population data, policy development, research and education, POGO has created a highly integrated and seamless system of pediatric cancer care – ensuring equitable access to care for all children in Ontario throughout the spectrum of illness, recovery and survivorship. POGO’s programs have been deployed nationally and internationally and its work is published in peer-reviewed journals. POGO receives core funding from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, and an engaged and supportive donor base provides additional funding for POGO research and family shield services.
